Morogoro is buzzing with anticipation for the Mkwawa Leaf Rally this weekend! It's shaping up to be quite the event, as top drivers from all over Tanzania — including Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Iringa, and Tanga — converge for what's sure to be an exhilarating competition.

This rally is actually the third round of this year's National Rally Championship, making it a pivotal moment for many competitors. Everyone's eyes are on the defending champion, Ahmed Huwel, who hails from Iringa. But he's got some serious competition in Manvir Birdi, who recently clinched the second round of the championship. The event kicks off with a flag-off on Saturday, September 6, 2026, at the Mkwawa Tobacco processing plant. Soon after, the cars will head to the Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) plantation area in Mkundi for a special Super Special Stage. All the remaining stages will take place on Sunday, September 7, 2026, also at Mkundi TFS. Organizers are expecting over 20 incredible cars to take part, promising a full weekend of speed and skill.
